The English letter Q in Taiwan may be part of their daily words depending on what situation you have. The engine choke in Taiwan is often written as Q鈕 or “Q new”. It is originally from Japanese 吸入（きゅうにゅう）(kyunyu) which means the intake. The sound is similar to “Q new.” However the character “鈕” is actually pronounced like ” LIU” not “new.” You can say it is messed up with N and L or maybe it is because the manual choke pull handle has a knob at the end. And knob in Mandarin is 鈕.
